In our standard Braided wicks, cut down to 1/4 or 1/8 of an inch when first lighting. if you have less time to burn the candle, 1/4 of an inch will help the wax melt reach the sides of the glass more quickly.
if you have several hours to enjoy your candle, keeping the wick closer to 1/8 of an inch will allow the candle to burn more slowly and for you to get more burn hours out of the candle.
with our limited edition wood wicks, keep the wick close to 1/4 inch every time you light. our wood wicks require longer burn times for the wax to fully melt.
to get the longest life out of your candle, you must let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the glass each time you light it. if you do not, the candle will begin to tunnel down the middle and the wax on the sides will never burn. this is a result of how the user burns the candle and can be avoided.
